Thankful Thursday

I've been a bit preoccupied lately, as we have been working out our new budget. During a time when we're making a lot of decisions about what we have to give up, it's nice to take a moment to think about just some of the things I'm thankful for...
  • Hanging out on a cozy couch, in front of a warm fire, on a stormy day.
  • The smell of banana bread baking in the oven.
  • Listening to my kids laugh as they play with each other.
  • A hot mug of my new favorite tea, vanilla hazelnut.
  • Enjoying a great funny movie after the kids have gone to bed.
  • Realizing that my husband and I may fight over stupid things like Starbucks and deli sandwiches, but when it comes to bigger challenges, we always find a way to come together and stay focused on the thing that is most important to both of us, our family.

It's so easy to get caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle that you forget to stop and be thankful for the little things that usually slip by unnoticed. Thanks for the reminder. :)

It's so great that you can lean on each other right now. It's just the pits when stress drives couples into fighting even more. Good luck with your budgeting - as we just went from a two-income family to just last fall, (granted, it was by choice, so not the same situation at all) I'm still struggling with finding a way to make it all work. Stretching our pennies. Good luck with yours - I'm sure it will work out eventually!

The movie, if you are looking for a good laugh, was called "Death at a Funeral". Don't be fooled by the title...it's anything but depressing.

I'll netflix the movie...always looking for a good laugh. I love how you always manage to find a silver lining, something I'm not good at AT ALL.

Know what you mean...Having no money for "extras" makes you really appeciate the little things more. So maybe the recession is good? Okay - maybe not - but the little things are.

That tea sounds fabulous. I need to really get our budget figured out...it's important so I know whether or not I will be having to go back to work or not!

I just finished writing a post about how the storms of life make the sunshine and togetherness that much sweeter. It's so nice to take a moment and think of the little things!

It is so important to remember that we have so many things to be thankful for. It always warms my heart to her my girls laugh as they play together too.
