Friends or Lovers? I'm taking a poll.

Conversation with my husband, D, while watching "The Bachelor".

Me: Didn't your Grandmother give you some advice on marriage years ago? Something about marrying your best friend?

D: Yup

Me: What was it? You should marry your best friend, or you shouldn't marry your best friend?

D: Yup, it was one of those. Either you should or you shouldn't marry your best friend.

So, what do you think?
Should you, or shouldn't you marry your best friend?

I love the Bachelor and also thought about that quote while watching it. I think it's very important to be great friends with the person you marry.

I haven't watched the bachelor since the bachelorette season so I can't comment on the show. But I can say that I did marry my best friend! We're celebrating our five year anniversary this April and (I'm so sorry to sound sooo cheesy) these past five have honestly been by far the best of my life. :)

I married my best friend. We were young and there was a lot of passion too but we talked for hours and hours and became the closest of friends before the passion took over.
We have been married for 21 years!

Sorry, I don't watch the Bachelor, I watch a lot of other reality shows, just not that one, so I am curious about the quote.
I will be back to check out your poll.

Definitely SHOULD marry your best friend. And if your husband is watching the Bachelor with you, then it seems you HAVE! Lucky you! :)

Yep! Marry your best friend, without a doubt they should be the person you could tell anything too!

First of all, I love the Bachelor! I totally hope, hope, hope it is Melissa. She is so cute and so real and so much better than Molly. Something about Molly bugs me. Sorry, just sayin.

And yes, I think you should marry your bestfriend. But there has to be more than friendship. You have to have the physical, the chemistry, the love, the whole package.

Dude. I'm waiting to marry my best friend, but you've got to hurry up and get divorced first!!

I think you should marry someone you can see becoming your best friend, if that makes any sense.

Yes Julia, that makes perfect sense.

I think you hit the nail on the head actually.

I dunno. I think it's so COMPLICATED. Best in some ways, for sure, but not in every way. It's multi-faceted, ya know? Sorry to be so literal, but the question just paralyzed me...

I'm a dork.

Yep. Definitely the best friend, or like was said before, someone who can become that. Works for me.
