Hug your kids extra tight today

I'm reminded of how precious life is, as I mourn along with so many in the blogging community, the loss of little Madeline.

Hug your kids extra tight today, send your thoughts and prayers to the Spohrs, and give if you can to the March of Dimes in Maddie's name.

I usually write my Thankful Thursday post tonight, and I was going to write about something that I heard in an interview with Michael J Fox. He was talking about how his Parkinson's gives him a wonderful perspective on life. Whenever his kids want to show him something or talk to him about something, he stops whatever he is doing - because nothing is more important than being with them in that moment. His condition reminds him daily, that life is precious.

So precious.

I saw this on your sister's blog too. It breaks my heart.

I also know that interview you speak of. It made me want to buy his book (I rarely want to make a celebrity more money). I loved that he said that parkinson's has given him things like that that he wouldn't otherwise think of.

I can't even imagine the loss of a child and all that her family has been through. Looking through the related posts though Madeline has touched so many peoples' heart many who she has never met. I always think how lucky I am to have healthy children and I will be squeezing them extra tight tonight.

That poor little one. I can't imagine what her family must be going through. All children are so precious. They are a blessing that we cannot take for granted.

How sad for that family, the prayers are just what they need.

Your reminder to the rest of us to put it all in perspective is much appreciated.

More precious than I think we can remember in day to day life. I've tried to stop every day for a moment this week and remember that.
