Confirmation that I am old

A friend of mine works in financial aid at a community college. She forwarded me an email about a new AARP scholarship program called "AARP Women's Scholarship Program Elder Economic Security Initiative", a program designed for women over 40.

Women over 40 are considered elders? I think I'm going to throw up.

On a side note, my friend got the email from her boss, who sent it to her because he thought that she fell under category # 2 below...

The scholarship is open to low-income women 40+. Priority is given to women who are in one of three categories:
1) women raising the children of another family member,
2) those in dead end jobs and
3) those who have been out of the paid workforce for an extended period

Despite this, I'm going to go right on believing that 40 is the new 30!

That is just so ridiculous that AARP considers 40 elderly! I can't believe it.

MAYBE this has something to do with shrubs? lol I'm gonna tell myself that's the 'elder' they meant!

Actually, I went to look up the scholarship, and elder isn't in the title on their homepage....at the moment.

Maybe someone changed it, in FEAR lol

Wait, sorry to double post, but your friend's BOSS sent it to her, telling her she's in a dead-end job?

That's almost as funny as the title of the scholarship, now that I think about it.

They may as well tap you on the shoulder and say "HINT HINT!"

Apparently I am going to be of the elderly generation in a months time :(

I heard it on Oprah some time ago that 40 is the new 30, and 50 is the new 40.

AARP should not expand their age group!!!!

Your poor friend, not the email to be getting from your boss.

Well that would explain all those "senior moments" I've been having.
