...and now for something completely different

After thoroughly depressing my friends with my last post, I thought I'd post something for a little laugh! In the spirit of a blog that I can't get enough of, Reality Roadkill, I wrote my own recap of the last episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8. (yes, I'm still watching it...no, no need to give me a hard time about it - my co-workers take care of that for you)

So, Jon and Kate celebrated their 100th episode by having Emeril come and cook for the whole family. They chopped some onions, snapped some peas, peeled some garlic and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZ then I woke up and noticed that Kate’s hair seems to have a striped look to it now.

When Emeril congratulated them on their hundredth episode and said “I don’t know how you made it to 100 episodes”, I was really wishing somebody would have said “Well, the jury’s still out on that one.” Clearly, Emeril hasn’t actually seen any episodes of Jon and Kate Plus 8. Next week on TLC’s excuse for a half hour long commercial for their other shows; Jon, Kate and the kids hang out with the biker dudes from American Chopper.

I've never watched it, but I love living vicariously through everyone who has.
Sounds a bit of a nightmare... I'll be tuning in for the kids tell all.

Fabulous post. I watch this train wreck too - but I haven't seen this episode yet - think I'll delete it from my dvr. Thank you for the warning!

AND - why oh why are they giving all these interviews to the tabloids?!?! Drives me crazy.

Totally related to your 'Waiting' post and your blog is the perfect place to get it out.

Now, onto Jon and Kate, my son turned me onto it and I watched the marathon on Memorial weekend, anyone could see that marriage dying right before their eyes and I have only watched it once, the first show and part of Cake Boss and I have figured that TLC is milking it until it dies, so using it to promote the other shows.
Your z's nailed it!!!

I haven't seen it since we lost TLC, but they're on tabloids so much anyway.

You crack me up!! I've just started watching that show and absolutely love it... I'm sad for their marraige and sad for their kids, but reality tv just sucks you right in... I'm even watching 18 and counting now.. oh, boy...

I saw it too. But seriously I don't know what to think. Can you imagine having that many kids and staying sane? It made me sad to see that they barely even looked at each other. Isn't TLC just cashing in on these shows??? Now they have a new series called dog salon or something like that! They are going to have a series based on dog groomers. What's next, an hour special on watching people cut their toe nails???

Whenever I'm feeling sorry for myself or worried that I'm missing out in not having kids, I watch Jon and Kate plus Eight. I perk right up!

I must admit, I never jumped on the Jon and Kate bandwagon until their marriage began to crumble, now I tune in occasionally and read the tabloids - but only the covers while I'm standing in line! Is that wrong? I mean, isn't that what reality TV is all about? Watching other people's trainwrecks to make ourselves feel better about our boring lives? No? Maybe that's just me, then. ;)

They used to crack me up, now they make me sad. But, I still watch, strange compulsion. Your recap was awesome!

I'm with Anymommy. Used to think it was fun, now I can't stop. Like watching a sad train wreck.

Laughing at your re-cap though.

I USED to LUV Jon & Kate (see previous post on my blog about "Lesson I have learned from Watching Jon & Kate Plus 8). But I've noticed about a season ago, this quirky fun family was changing...and not for the good. The day I turned on the tube and say Jon and Kate sitting on their couch announcing " a company called us today. they want to GIVE us a piano.." they lost me forever. I saw what used to be a real family, turn into a marketing machine. It's the pits too. I miss that show.

I'm kind of glad I'm cheap and took almost all of the extra channels off our TV. I used to find them charming. Now...notsomuch. I probably would have snoozed through, too. I'm a hopeless couch snoozer after about 8:45.
