One of my Preschoolers became a KINDERGARTENer this week!
Seesa is in the same classroom as two of her best girlfriends! How freaking cute would it be if these three stay friends for a long time, and can look back on this picture of their first day of Kindergarten together? Maybe post it on their blogs? Unless blogging is totally uncool at that point, you know, because Mom does it.
The school has a new Principal, and he's awesome. He starts each day with all the classes congregating on the playground for the Pledge of Allegiance, some stretches and some motivation. Check out this crowd on the first day!
Seesa's teacher gave them all teddy bears for the first day, but they couldn't take them home yet. I asked her at the end of the week, if they could take them home yet. Seesa said "No. We can't take them home until everyone stops crying." Ha! How funny is that? I guess there's still one holdout...
There were no tears from Seesa though. She was over the moon to be starting Kindergarten, and loved her teacher so much that she insisted on buying her a book. We chose one about California, and Seesa was very specific about what she wanted for the inscription. I wrote it out, and she copied it into the book. It says "I love your class. And I love you. Go Eagles." The school mascot is an Eagle, and the girl is ready to FLY!!! My wish for her is that she will be this excited about school for many, many years to come.
Here is Milly (and "Camper Baby") on her first day of the 2009 Preschool Year. At least I've got a couple more years before I have to come up with a new name for my blog...

Oh, I'm right there with you!
T loves kindergarten so much. I just feel bad for Z because he really really wants to go too.
I signed up to be a PE mom, as much so that Z could participate with their classroom at least once a month.
Oh they are both so cute. I love that book inscription too! And how funny about those bears, and what a cute way to start the day! Sounds like a great week in your house! Yeah!
How sweet! The principal sounds great, and the girls are precious. I love that teddy bear idea!
I can't believe I'll be taking pictures like that in a couple of years!
They look so... grown up!
And beautiful. :)
She looks so grown up.
Until everyone stops crying? Ha, good luck with that one. We are two weeks in and there is a few in Bailey's class who still cry every day. One girl throws herself on her mom each day.
Mine didn't even care on day one. Oh are you still here mama? Ha.
So exciting! She looks so grown. And SO much like you!
I'll have a big First Grader starting next week! *sob*!
LOVE the teddy bear idea.
She looks so cute! Kindergarten is always fun. My new first grader is nervous that first grade will be "all work". My 7th grader tells him, "You should see what I have to deal with this year."
So sweet! The enthusiasm for school at that age is great. That's why if I ever finish my degree and become a teacher I want to teach 1st Grade. The kids are older but most are still excited about learning.
Such adorable girls!
Sweet girls. I can't take blog posts this time of year. Every single back to school post makes me cry.
Your blog looks fabulous darling!!
Totally sweet! And they both look so excited and happy. :-) But then, they're your daughters.
You have the most beautiful girls. Seriously - Gap Kids models both of them. But we not supposed to know S and M's real names? S has a name tag in one.
I wonder how Oliver will react to the bus next week... Special Pre-school is always an interesting group...
So cute and so grown up. I'm not sure how I'll survive the preschool drop off in two weeks.
Kindergarten is AWESOME. But I can't get over how much Seesa looks like you. It's crazy.
I wonder if camper baby had a hard time adjusting to the Yellow Duck room.
I love the pic of the three girls. So sweet. And your daughters are adorable! The teddy bear idea is really really a good one!
Your girls are just beautiful! I used to love school and my teachers. I cried at the end of each year and would write to them in the summers. I hope those girls stay friends too!
Toooo freaking cute! I love that these girlies are right next door and I get to see them grow up (so fast)!
Hi - new to your blog! I love the teddy bear idea, and unfortunately, my Monkey Man would be that one kid that the whole class is waiting for so they can take their bears home. There's one in every bunch - and he's mine! :)
